Hey peeps, I believe that you have got some idea about Network Virtualization from the previous blog, now let us discuss something interesting about Cloud computing!!
Cloud computing is one of the ways for storing and accessing data or files which allows us to store on servers over the internet. Cloud computing is possible because of data centers, house servers, storage devices, and other network infrastructure equipment.
Types of Clouds
In this section, we’ll be discussing about the four primary cloud models.
Cloud based applications and services offered in public clouds are made available to the general population (public). The services may be free or pay-per-use model. The public cloud uses internet to provide services.
Cloud based applications or services offered in private cloud are intended for a specific organization or entity, such as government. Private cloud can be set up using a private network of an organization and it can be expensive to build and to maintain.
The hybrid clouds are made up of two or more clouds, for example, a part of private and a part of public, in which both remains separate objects but they are connected using a single architecture. The users on the hybrid cloud would be able to able to levels of access to various services based on the user access rights.
This type of cloud is created for exclusive use by a specific community. The difference between the public clouds and community clouds is that, the functional needs that have been customized for the community.
Cloud services are available in a variety of options to meet customer requirements. The three main clod computing services are as follows:
Software as a Service(SaaS)
The cloud provider is responsible for access to applications and services, such as email, communications that are delivered over the internet. The user does not manage any aspect of the cloud services except for limited user-specific application settings. The user only needs to provide data.
Platform as a Service(PaaS)
The cloud provider is responsible for providing the users access to development tools and services used to deliver the applications. The users have control over the configuration settings of the application hosting environment of the cloud provider.
Infrastructure as a Service(IaaS)
The cloud provider is responsible for providing IT managers access to the network equipment, virtualized network services, and supporting network services, and supporting network infrastructure. This can be used by the IT managers to deploy and run software code, which includes operating system and applications.
For businesses, the cloud service providers have extended this model to provide IT support for each of the cloud computing services (ITaaS) which can extend the capability of the network without requiring investment in new infrastructure, training new personnel, or licensing new software. These are available on demand and delivered economically to any device anywhere in the world without compromising security or function.
